We know that our guests will be traveling from far away and we would like to help you have a more enjoyable stay
in Texas.

Things to do in Central Texas
San Antonio
San Antonio is 2 1/2 hours south of the Killeen/Fort Hood area. The city has a nice Zoo, botanical
gardens, shopping and great resturants on the river walk, boat tours on the river walk, and of course the Alamo.
Austin
Austin is about and hour south of the Killeen/Fort Hood area. There are tons of museums including
the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. There are always live concerts and music events. The Round Rock
Express, our minor league baseball team, has there field near Austin. For those a little more adventurous there
is 6th Street, the nightlife area. Just remember with a motto like "Keep Austin Weird" you're bound to run into something
strange.
Gulf Coast
The nearest beach is about 4 hours from the Killeen/Ft. Hood area. Galveston and Corpus Christi
have lots of shopping areas, museums, aquariums, and of course the Gulf of Mexico. If you're interested in military
history, Corpus Christi has the USS Lexington open to the public.
Foot Hood
Of course if you're going to be in the area Ft. Hood has a lot to offer. The 4th ID and the 1st Cav
have their museums on Post. The 4th ID museum is now displaying a beautiful bronze statue, made out of a melted staue
of Saddam, created by an Iraqi artest and given to the 4th ID as a thank you for their work.
Jesse would also be more than happy to take you on a tour of the hanger where he works on the blackhawks.
If you have any questions about any activities in the beautiful Central Texas area, contact us and we will do our best to provide more info.
If you are interested in hiking, boating, or other out door activities check out the Texas
Parks and Wildlife web site.
